Antarang is my first child.

Before Hania and Jyana (my daughters) were born, Antarang was already teaching me motherhood — in a different way.

And just like no mother is perfect, no entrepreneur begins perfectly prepared.

Accounts? Not my strength.
Technology? Definitely not my forte.

I learnt everything through trial and error.

What I truly understood was creativity. Craft. Techniques. People. Community. Hands. Stories.

The Beginning – Not Just a Product, but an Opportunity

When we started making Rakhis, it was not just a product line. It was an opportunity. Some of our artisans were still learning. Their embroidery wasn’t perfect. Their mirrors weren’t always symmetrical. Threads weren’t always innovative.

We could have said no. But we didn’t.

A Journey of Growth

Next year — we expanded the collection. We sold out.

Third year — brands began approaching us. We found our niche. We started supplying to some of India’s finest craft-based brands.

During Covid, a leading e-commerce platform approached us — we were on cloud nine. Were we ready? Maybe not technically. Our photos were clicked on basic mobile phones. Raw setups. No styling teams. No fancy lights.

But today when we look back at those pictures — we see courage. We see growth. We see a journey.

Soon we began supplying to a wide range of craft-based retailers. We understood and took organised steps in this world of unorganised craft sector. We were listed on multiple e-commerce platforms year after year.
